Package – BIAN_SemanticMetadata

The BIAN_SemanticMetadata package contains a diagram that shows the relationships between the elements of the BIAN package and elements of the SemanticMetadata package.

The binding is achieved via subclass relationships whereby elements of the BIAN package subclass the TaggableElement element of the SemanticMetadata package.

Since a subclass relationship (called a "Generalization" in UML parlance) is owned by the element playing the role of subclass, the subclass relationships are contained within the BIAN::Level1, BIAN::Level2, and BIAN::Level3 packages, and thus there are no metamodel elements in this BIAN_SemanticMetadata package; the package contains only a diagram that shows the subclass relationships.

Comment

The SemanticMetadata package is potentially applicable to other standards such as XBRL and ISO20022.
